Your Writing

Sign up to our community of Lancashire based writers and readers. We have members who specialise in poetry, prose, flash fiction, script and screen writing. Inside, there’s the opportunity to post samples of your own creative writing and receive feedback from writers across the county – moderated by the Lancashire Writing Hub team of writers.

We also have useful Resources for Writers, including writing tips and exercises and articles on the business end of writing, such as tips on getting your work published.

You retain copyright and control over your own work at all times – and membership is completely free.

More information about copyright from the Intellectual Property Office here and from the British Library here, and a useful overview in ensuring your copyright is protected in an article submitted to LWH by Claire Sharples here.

We run occasional competitions too, where the best pieces from the community will be submitted for showcasing and publication on the main Lancashire Writing Hub site.

The benefits to members:

  • An online community in addition to your regular writing group or circle
  • Varied and considered feedback on your work
  • Problem solving and practical suggestions for and from writers at all levels of experience
  • ‘Test’ your work in a private, safe space with readers who’ve been in your shoes
  • Practice your own feedback and critiquing skills by offering help to others
  • Useful Resources for Writers
  • Opportunities to win competitions!
