Preston Guild Three20 Writing Project

Three stories. Twenty years. Preston Three20

To celebrate Preston Guild in 2012, They Eat Culture & Preston Guild Take Off will lead on a stunning, ambitious, unique literature project.

Three different writers will write a story based in Preston: past, present, future. The first writer will begin their story in 1972, and the focus will be on the past. The second writer will begin their story in 2012 and tell the contemporary story of Preston as it is now. The third writer will begin in 2072 and tell a story of Preston’s future, working backwards to end in 2032.

We also want local writers to get involved, telling stories – fact, fiction, prose or poetry – as part of this project, so if you are a writer with a Preston postcode (home or work), get in touch! We will be running free workshops and other events as part of this project, and we want YOU to be involved.

Phone or email Nathalie Boobis on: 01772 499 207 / nathalie@theyeatculture.org

Also, if you have links with a community group which might be interested in being involved in free art and literature events over the coming year for Preston Guild 2012, we are organising free workshop events and looking for participants from all walks of Preston life to get involved in the Preston Three20 project.

Please email Nathalie for more information, or if you would like us to give a presentation to a community group meeting.

We have a dedicated Preston Three20 community blog which will have more information, and will feature all the community events we are running for this exciting story-telling project: http://prestonthree20.wordpress.com/

Guild Writing Project launches!

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

They Eat Culture and the Lancashire Writing Hub have launched their Guild Writing Project, Preston Three20, with a series of free workshops and a live literature night Guild Word Soup special!

Delivered in conjunction with the Guild Take Off team at Preston City Council, our ambitious writing project has already attracted significant interest from Preston writers and from community groups keen to get involved.

We are also delivering a series of three workshops and a live literature event to young mums in Preston in July, in conjunction with the Acorn small grant scheme, led by Preston writer Naomi Kruger.

To find out more about the Preston Three20 writing and story-telling project, phone or email Nathalie on 01772 499207 / nathalie@theyeatculture.org .

Remember, you only need a Preston postcode to get involved!
