Word Soup Short Story Night – Tuesday 16th November

As part of the Lancashire Writing Hub Short Story Fest – November and December 2010 – we are hosting  a Word Soup Short Story Night  on Tuesday 16th November at The Continental, South Meadow Lane, Preston.

WORD SOUP SHORT STORY NIGHT:
Our regular live lit night Word Soup will be a Short Story Night on Tuesday 16th November, and we have a fantastic line-up of Short Story performers.

The headline act is fantastic short story writer Zoe Lambert, published by Comma Press, a not-for-profit publishing initiative dedicated to promoting new fiction and poetry, with an emphasis on the short story. Zoe has also been published in The Independent on Sunday and Lamport Court Magazine.

Joining Zoe for Word Soup’s Short Story Night will be short-story writers Philip Burton - who has won awards for his poetry, the fabulously talented Mollie Baxter, the fascinating Stephen Jansen whose latest project is a collaborative book with Harvey Bainbridge of Hawkwind fame, and new talent Catie Smith. There’ll also be the regular Open Mic slot, and a fabulous music set from Rae Morris, described by Ark Magazine as ‘one of the most talented acts we’ve come across’ and likened to ‘a youthful Alanis Morissette’.

and don’t forget the Lancashire Writing Hub Short Story Competition, deadline Friday 10th December, the winning Short Story to be featured on the front page of the LWH website as part of a collaborative National Short Story Day project, running in partnership with Comma Press, Flambard Press, Iron Press, Route Publishing, Cadaverine and Mslexia amongst other organisations.
