The Lancashire Writing Hub are running events for Writers near you in July!

Please note that all events are FREE but places are limited so booking is essential, and we will be asking for fully returnable deposits for two of the events, which will be refunded at the event.

Synopsis Writing Tips Workshop

at Burnley Central Library Thursday 15th July, 12.30pm – 1.30pm

Synopsis tips and other useful areas of professional development for Writers keen to market themselves effectively. Follow up with discussion group online. Places limited – booking essential.

This workshop is FREE but requires a fully refundable deposit of £5.00 to secure your place.

TWO Taster Workshops: Short Story Writing and Poetry & Performance,

followed by WORD SOUP Live Literature Open Mic event

at Clitheroe Grand Saturday 17th July, 12.30pm – 7pm for whole day, or Pick n Mix!

- Short Story workshop 12.30–2.30pm with J A Brunning;    – Poetry & Performance workshop with Mark Mace Smith 3-5pm;

- Word Soup Live Literature event featuring Mark Mace Smith 5.30-7pm, open to the public and to all workshop attendees. Experience a great live literature event – and feel free to bring along a piece of your writing to join in the fun!

All of these events at the Clitheroe Grand on 17th are FREE but require a fully refundable deposit of £10.00 for the day to secure your place.

The Grand is a fantastic venue – visit the cafe for refreshments between workshops!

Meet the Authors: Live Panel Event with Livi Michael, award-winning author of children’s and adult fiction, including including The Angel Stone, The Whispering Road, and Faerie Heart  – as well as adults – including Inheritance and All The Dark Air, and Nik Perring, author of short, short stories Not So Perfect and children’s book I Met A Roman Last Night, What Did You Do?

at Colne Library on SATURDAY 24th July 2 – 3.30pm

Whether you’re interested in writing for adults or children – or both! – this is a unique opportunity to hear these published authors read from their work and ask them questions about life as a professional writer – their creative approaches, their writing, and the challenges of getting published.

FREE entry but you will need to book your place.
